HADLEY WOOD GOLF CLUB
Enfield
London
In 2019 we were approached by one of the UK’s leading golf clubs to help them capitalise on valuable unused land on their estate. The proposal is for 2 new dwelling houses on a conservation site adjacent Hadley Wood Golf Club entrance. A complex project that required both an extension and renovation of a Grade 2 listed Lodge and the design of a new build dwelling that responded to a sensitive historic context.
Smith Maloney Hillier engaged with Enfield Council Planning at the earliest opportunity to agree the design principles through a series of schematic diagrams. This collaborative approach ensured the design developed within a framework of pre-agreed parameters to minimise the risk of disappointing outcome.
“I have no hesitation in recommending Smith Maloney Hillier Architects. Their work for our golf club was to a very high standard and is largely responsible for us gaining a planning permission for 2 houses when attempts over 30 years had failed. They are also involved in more detailed work and VRs that are very impressive, and I am sure will accelerate our sales, well done Ashley and his team”
