MASTERPLANNING
Smith Maloney Hillier has developed an approach to master-planning that evolved from our landscaping, architecture and planning experience.
We focus on developing cohesive streetscapes, public open spaces and infrastructure solutions that interact to promote vibrant, safe and inclusive places to live.
Our work is research-based and often informed by local architectural vernacular and historic development patterns. We have a deep understanding of the importance of site ecology, and the need for pragmatic ways of promoting biodiversity. We seek to marry modern design solutions with the creative reinterpretation of historic precedents.
We offer support to local authorities, private developers and local communities wishing to create forward thinking, sustainable urban environments. Our design strategies evolve through collaboration and an appreciation of social, economic and environmental factors.
Our master-planning lead has experience of projects at every scale, from small infill development to large urban regeneration projects (including the redevelopment of Royal Victoria Docks and Kings Cross in London). Please get in touch for more details.
